Microsoft Office is a great product.  The only thing bad about it is the cost.  But there are alternatives that you can use.  If you're looking for an alternative to Microsoft Office, our recommendation would be Open Office.  Open Office allows you to Open, Edit and Save Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint documents.

Who is Open Office for?

  • Everyday home users.
  • Everyday small business users that do not use Microsoft Outlook.

Who is Open Office not for?

  • If you use Microsoft Access, Microsoft Office would be the better choice as Microsoft Access compatibility is not included with Open Office.
  • If you use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office would be a better choice as Outlook natively integrates many functions with Microsoft Office seamlessly.
  • If you use advanced Excel Spreadsheets that were developed in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office may be the better choice as some advanced Excel Spreadsheet functions may differ.
  • For Enterprise Users typically Microsoft Office is the better choice.
